Green Monday and Super Saturday: Do They Matter for Temu Orders?
By Stash by TipidNation ยท November 4, 2026 ยท 4 min read
Green Monday and Super Saturday are December shopping labels used mainly in the United States, and we found no evidence that Temu runs a sale under either name. The useful part for Temu shoppers is the calendar: Super Saturday lands too close to Christmas for most cross-border parcels.
Where the Two Labels Come From
Green Monday is generally credited to eBay. Its Shopping.com arm used the term in 2007 for the second Monday of December, a date when online sales tend to run high as shoppers try to beat shipping cutoffs. The โgreenโ is usually read as a nod to money, though the origin is not firmly documented. Some analysts define it a little differently, as the last Monday with at least ten days left before Christmas. In 2026 both readings point to December 14.
Super Saturday is a retailerโs term for the last Saturday before Christmas, also called Panic Saturday. It was built around stores, with extended hours and last-minute gift runs. In 2026 Christmas is a Friday, so Super Saturday is December 19.
What We Found About Temu
We searched for any Temu promotion branded Green Monday or Super Saturday and found nothing. That is a statement about what we could find, not proof that no discount ever appears on those days. Temu does run its own named events, and the ones we track are listed on the Temu Christmas sale page and the 12.12 sale page. If something does show up in the app on those dates, treat it as an ordinary Temu promotion, not a special calendar event.
Why Green Monday Is Mostly a Label
Green Monday arrives after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and its reputation rests on volume rather than on any fixed discount. Retailers use it to clear stock before Christmas, and what you see depends entirely on the store. For a Temu order, the date itself changes nothing about the price logic. What matters is the price on the listing that day, compared with what you saw a week earlier. Our Black Friday scams guide covers how to judge a countdown banner without letting it rush the decision.
Why Super Saturday Is the Date to Be Careful With
Super Saturday works for a shop where you collect gifts the same afternoon. It works poorly for parcels that cross borders. A Temu order has handling time at the seller, then carrier transit, and possibly a customs step on top. Standard shipping often runs seven to twenty days in ordinary conditions, a range explained in how Temu shipping times work. Six days before Christmas is inside that range, which means a Super Saturday order is more of a gamble than a plan.
The sensible reading for Temu is that Green Monday, on December 14, is already late-ish, and Super Saturday is past the point where delivery by the 25th is realistic for most destinations. Our guide to Temu holiday shipping deadlines lays out the order-by logic in more detail.
A Better Use for Both Dates
If you are buying gifts for after Christmas, or for a birthday in January, these dates are fine for browsing, since delivery pressure disappears. If you are buying for the 25th, the useful move is to order earlier and use Green Monday as a checkpoint: any gift not yet ordered by then is better sourced locally. Checking the delivery estimate on the actual listing, for example on the Temu UK page or the page for your own market, beats any generic date.
Questions Worth Answering
We found no sign that Temu markets a sale under either name. Both are general retail labels, so any Temu discount around those dates would come from its regular promotions, which are best checked in the Temu app.
Green Monday is the second Monday of December, which is December 14, 2026. Super Saturday is the last Saturday before Christmas, which is December 19, 2026, because Christmas falls on a Friday.
For most cross-border orders, it is unlikely. Standard Temu shipping commonly takes a week or more, so an order placed six days before Christmas is a long shot unless the listing shows a delivery estimate that fits.
